One of the finest pet boarding facilities in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Hilltop Kennels, we’re located at 1403 Wilson Ave. SW, a mere 10-minute drive north of the Eastern Iowa Airport. Our facility sits on six beautiful acres.

Our dog and cat boarding facility, established in 1979, is privately owned and operated. We provide a private indoor/outdoor run for each dog and a separate boarding area for cats. We’re here to provide safe and comfortable stays for your pet.

To make every pet feel at home, we personally attend to them and provide the following comforts:

  • Raised Resting Platforms

We can offer playtimes, exercise sessions, and daycare for an additional fee.

Meet Our Company’s Owners

In December 2014, David and Kelly Hellman took over Hilltop Kennels. Owning and running a kennel has been a lifelong dream for both of them.

Kelly’s many years of work experience with home daycare carries a deep passion for providing childcare, a devotion she easily carries over to pet care. A graduate of Kirkwood Community College with a Pet Grooming Diploma, she grooms pets at Hilltop.

Both Passionate animal lovers, David and Kelly, have two children, Ella and Gracie.
